Dr. Josef Fessler: Expertise from the Swiss Federal Supreme Court

We are proud to welcome Dr. Josef Fessler to our team as of 1 January 2024. His impressive career and extensive experience, especially his many years of work at the Swiss Federal Supreme Court, make him a valuable asset to our firm.

Education in mathematics and law

After successfully completing his studies in mathematics and obtaining his PhD in mathematics (Dr. sc. math. ETH), he ventured into law. Dr. Josef Fessler was admitted to the bar of the Canton of Nidwalden in 1993.

Experience at the Swiss Federal Supreme Court

The years from 1992 to 2019 shaped Dr. Josef Fessler’s career at the Swiss Federal Supreme Court, where he worked as a court clerk in the Second Division of Social Law. This position not only allowed him to deepen his knowledge of social insurance law, but also gave him an insight into the case law of the public law and criminal law divisions in Lausanne.
